It is always the best practice to always update your blog with new posts in order to keep you audience on the edge of their seats.
“In the world of Google, Content is king.”
I cannot take credit for that statement and I can't really remember where I saw that but I am pretty sure this idea is well known among top bloggers and newbies included.
But how do you come up with consistent good contents?

Here is a list of 9 tips for coming up with article ideas.

1. Release Some Energy

Whether it is going for a swim, hitting the gym, kicking a football around, hitting a punching bag or trying to beat Usain Bolt's incredible world record. Try to release some energy which helps you take your mind off blogging and that awesome article title idea that just wouldn't show up.
Doing a strenuous exercise shifts the physiology and goes a long way towards shifting your mentality. It helps you develop new ideas which can help you recover lost freshness and interests.

2. Do Some Relaxing

Conversely, relaxing can help one's staleness of writing. Many of the successful bloggers come up with their wonderful ideas while doing something relaxing like in the shower room, waking up from a nap, a leisurely walk and so on.
When you feel stressed or tensed, try doing something relaxing.

3. Write Down Everything You Think Of

It is always a good practice to always have a pen and a jotter around even though nowadays, our smart phone is the closest tool we can lay our hands on . A lot of great ideas come while we aren't even thinking about them so writing them down will serve as a reference when we need one.

Evernote is one of the great tools used by a lot of bloggers to help take a note of their to-do lists or ideas. You can always download the free app.

4. Read Your Competitor's Blog

Your competitors can be a great source for inspiration. It is always a great idea to keep track of them while also holding your own. Visit their websites, read their posts, browse through their comments, see their readers' reactions and and their expectations. Be focused more on the loopholes and be the first to address them.

5. Just Start Spilling them

One of the best ways to start writing is to start writing. Write about how you keep hard-boiling your eggs, write about off-the-wall ideas you've had, write about random stuffs.
Write as much as you can, pull and put ideas in between lines and I can assure you at the end of the day, it will begin to shape up. You can then edit and filter out what and what you are going to need for that awesome article.

6. Browse Question and Answer Forums

Browse question and answer forums related to your industry. Quora and Yahoo Answers are two of the largest Q&A forums that come in handy when looking for blog posts ideas. There are other forums like Digital PointWarrior forum, among others that comes to your aid when you need to know what really people will be happy to read.
Browse forums that have a whole lot users with efficient and consistent interactivity.

7. Revisit Your Old Posts

Remember those old posts that got you your first readers? Some of them are old-fashioned and the ideas are no longer working. Make further research and update them, this way you can drive more leads to your business as well as keeping your loyal readers at bay.

8. Go To Article Directories

I am not asking you to go copy and paste those less quality articles packaged with annoyingly long affiliate anchor links on article directories like EzineArticles. Browse related topics and carefully select articles your readers will love to see, then go ahead and write a better one.

9. Play Around With Headlines

How safe is your [person/object] from [threat] or Can we really trust [blank].

How about playing around with these headlines? You are sure to come up with a lot of blog post titles when you replace the words in the bracket with your business related targets. This way, you will have a lot of articles to write about.

How To Write When You Are Not A Writer

How to write when you are not a writer

You are a business owner and you are called to manage different tasks, one of those tasks is writing which is fundamental to your business. You have to create content. This can be a very scary and a daunting task. Many individuals fear writing or put it off because they barely see or consider themselves to be writers.

Well, the fact is you don't have to be a writer to write really good content for your website. Content published in newspapers or magazines and content published on mosts websites are very different. The content on your website doesn't need to appeal to a broad audience and also doesn't need to be a broad topic. It's quite the contrary, really. It will be quite specific.

For instance, you could choose to write on a topic like "Ten ways to tie a shoe lace". It provides value to a very specific target audience and they will very much appreciate it. It becomes even easier for you if you have a website where you sell shoes, then you can write this article without thinking much about it. The information is already inside you.

Web content is more conversational. You should make it personal- like you are in front of your audience, speaking to your audience. You'll use words like:
 • You
 • Your
 • You’ll
 • You’re
 • And sometimes if you’re writing a blog post you’ll use “I”, “Me” and “We”
You won't find these words in any piece of journalism unless they are in quotes. Newspapers and magazines are more generally more formal and use third person perspective.

Furthermore, web content is quite formatted for easy reading. You will use bullet points, numbers, headings and subheadings to break up your content into smaller segments so as to make your writeup easy to remember. So what does all this mean if you are not a writer?

It simply means that writing content for your blog or website is quite straightforward. So you will need to:
 • write what you know and what your audience will appreciate
 • write conversationally
 • write so its easy to read online

Steps in writing your online content:

 • spend a few minutes outline the article structure.
 • write a rough heading line and subheadings
 • fill in your content (tip: write as if you are writing a letter to a friend)
 • don't worry about grammar as you can always come back and edit for clarity later
Once you now have your thoughts on paper, polish and add your keywords to optimize for search engines in other for your content to rank well and then publish it. You will then test and track your articles and content to what your readers response to.

With a little confidence and a proper plan, you can write good content to build and grow your business.

Wordpress or Blogger? 7 Key Comparisons

7 key comparisons between wordpress and blogger - peeptrendz

Wordpress and Blogger are two of the most popular blogging platforms. Newbie bloggers who have finally decided to take their blogging career seriously are often faced with this question:
Blogger or Wordpress, which one should I go for?

In this article, i will do a Wordpress vs Blogger comparison by highlighting their advantages and disadvantages.

Please note that the comparison I meant here is between (self-hosted) vs not vs

7 Key comparisons between Wordpress and Blogger

1. Ownership

Blogger is a blogging platform provided the tech giant Google. It offers free hosting and its pretty much enough to get you words out there on the internet. But inspite of all these, you do not own your stuffs as google can decide to shut it down anytime and your blog or post can be taken out without prior notification.

Wordpress on the other hand is free(open source software). You can use a hosting provider to host your files. How long you want to run your blog is left to you to decide. You own your data and can decide how and what to share with third parties.

2. Flexibility

Blogger is a beautiful platform but there are limited things you can do to fine tune it to your taste. There is no way around this as it does not support plugins.

Wordpress as previously pointed out is an open source software which makes it possible to extend its features through several plugins. Plugins handle different tasks and they make it very easy to design your blog the way you envision it.

3. Appearance

Blogger when set up, comes with a few templated ready to be installed, but these templates are limited and don't have professional feel to them. However, you have the option of securing the services of third party template designers to change the look and feel.

Wodpress comes with thousands of free and premium templates that you can choose from and they all have this professional feel to them. No matter your niche, there is always a Wordpress theme that fits perfectly and easy to to customize to your taste.

4. Portability

Even though Blogger allows you to export your content, moving your blog to another platform is very complicated. You risk losing your SEO ranking, subscribers/followersduring the move. Even if done successfully, your files still remains on Google servers.

With Wordpress, you can easily move your website to a new host or another content management system.

Both offer easy ways to change domain names.

5. Security

Blogger offer added advantage of your blog being highly secured because it is hosted on Google servers which are highly secured. You don't have to worry about updating you core files or managing potential hacks.

Because Wordpress is an open source software, managing your website's security is solely your job. Though there are several high quality plugins that can help you and constant updates of Wordpress versions. But there is also the need for you to keep up to date with what is happening in the backend.

6. Beyond

Blogger has been around for a long time, but this still doesnt guarantee that your blog will survive the next ten years. Google might decide to take down the free blogging service like we have seen in the past with services like Google Reader, Adsense for feeds and the possible demise of Feedburner.

Wordpress is developed by a group of developers around the world striving to make the platform more usable and flexible. The future can not be decided by a company or a person. It can be asured that it will be around for a very long time.

7. Support

Blogger only offer support through basic documentation about the platform and user's forum where other users might find a possible solution to your problems. So in terms of support you won't really get much from it.

Wordpress has a professional community of developers and users who offer support. There is an online documentation, forums and there are companies who offer professional premium support for users.

I hope that with these outlined comparisons you now have a basic idea about what blogging platform would be best for your blogging career.

I will personally recommend Wordpress if you are looking to have a permanent blog you want to make money on for a long time. However, if you are just looking to build you SEO and sell off the domain name, you should go for blogger as you can host it for free.

Which platform do you prefer?

Rewrite A Domain To A Subdomain In 3 Simple Steps

How to rewrite a domain to a subdomain

I guess you got here because you are trying to rewrite your new domain to an already hosted subdomain. I once had a domain too I wanted to point and rewrite to a subdomain. So read thoroughly and am pretty sure you'll get it done.

The thing is, I registered an Economy hosting on Godaddy, created a subdomain amd later felt I should buy a domain for it. (Sub)Domain mapping or forwarding isn't the way to go because it's just the subdomain that is hosted and Godaddy's Economy only allows one website except you want to add an "Alias".

To get things straight. Here's how I did it. So if you want to rewrite a (new) domain to a hosted subdomain, here's how to do it. Am assuming Godaddy as your hosting service though this works on most hosts too.

I am assuming your server is running Apache and you have mod_rewrite.c and mode_rewite.h enabled which most of the time it is.

Note: If you haven't pointed your new domain to the subdomain, do that first.

Now rewrite your domain to a subdomain using the following steps:

Step 1: Log in to your cPanel and add the new domain as an alias. Once successful, enter the address of the new domain in a browser then you see that now displaying the files of the old domain (not subdomain).

Step 2: Now go to your "File Manager" of the root domain (www not subdomain). Make sure you set all files visible. Locate the .htaccess file and open.

Step 3: Now copy the code below into your .htaccess. Make sure you back up your files, trust me you don't wanna mess with this file.

Assuming your new domain is and your subdomain's directory is subdomain.
RewiteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?newdomain\.com$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/subdomain/
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /subdomain/$1 [L]
There you go. Just substitute and subdomain with the appropriate names.
I really do hope this helped. If you have any queries, feel free to use the comment section.

How to create a dynamic RSS feed using PHP and SQL

How to create a dynamic rss feed using php and sql

Creating an RSS feed for your website makes it easier for your readers to see updates without having to visit your website. News websites like CNN, BBC and so on provide RSS feed for users in other for them to have easy access to their wide range of news and updates as well the ability to embed in another website.

RSS can also be submitted as sitemap to Search Engines as it contains all links on your website. Of course, creating a file for your feed is important but manually adding links can be a daunting task and as the file becomes larger, it becomes a big problem as web crawlers don't like large files. So it becomes more easier if you create a dynamic file that is only just a few KBs.

Below is how you create a dynamic RSS feed with PHP and SQL.

PHP and SQL are both server side languages so we already assume you have access to your server files. You have your database credentials and you are running a dynamic website.
header("Content-Type: application/rss+xml; charset=utf-8");
$rssfeed = ' ';
$rssfeed .= '
';
$rssfeed .= '
';
$rssfeed .= '
TITLE OF OUR WEBSITE
';
$rssfeed.='
'; $rssfeed .= '
YOUR WEBSITE'S DESCRIPTION
';
$rssfeed .= '
';
$rssfeed .= '
';
$rssfeed .= '
';
$rssfeed .= '
';
$stmt = $db->query('SELECT postID, postTitle, postDesc, postDate FROM blog_posts ORDER BY postID DESC');
while($row = $stmt->fetch()){
$rssfeed .= '
';
$rssfeed .= '
'.$row['postTitle'].'
';
$rssfeed .='
';
$rssfeed .='
http://YOUR DOMAIN/viewpost.php?id='.$row['postID'].'
';
$desc = $row['postDesc'];
$rssfeed .='
' .$desc. '
';
$rssfeed .='
';
$rssfeed .='
';
catch(PDOException $e) {
echo $e->getMessage();
$rssfeed .='
';
$rssfeed .='
';
echo $rssfeed;
Replace these PARAMETERS with the appropriate ones. Create a .php file and paste the above code into it after appropriate replacement of parameters. To learn more about RSS feeds elements you can go here.

Hope this helped. If you have any queries, feel free to comment below.
